The Froglings Hold Their Ground ~ Round 7

I'll start with the frogling in 0808.  It misses with its spear, rolling 4 against Oddsdrakken, then rolls a 7 at Pandred with its bite.  That is its round.

0807 attacks the up-and-coming Engelhart: rolling an 8 and missing with the bite, but hitting AC 3 with its spear.  Engelhart is AC 4, so that hits for 6 damage.  That should stun the cleric; but the foliage is heavy enough behind him that he does not fall back.

Finally, the one in 0809 will attack Embla until hitting her; it misses with its spear, but puts the bite on the assassin, causing 2 damage.

That leaves the present position:

Corrected for Embla

Following the player's move, the position is thus:

Present gained experience stands as follows:

Embla's not stunned (though I certainly am), she has 17 hp!

Alexis Smolensk said...

I'll fix it then.

You better all tell me how many hit points you have at present as well.

Engelhart Askjellson said...

I'm at 21-6 = 15 hp.

Embla Strand said...

I am now at 8 (17 total hp) and not stunned, I believe.

Embla attacks the frog in 809: 9+2=11 to-hit and 5+1=6damage.

Willa does the same: 7+1=8 to-hit and 6 damage.

If he can, Petar will reclaim his bow.

Lothar is at 5 currently out of 30 total. As such, I take this round to pull a healing salve out of my pouch with my free hand pour it onto one of my many bite wounds.

I'll wait to declare actions for Valda and Bergthora until the result of Embla's attack is.

Is Fjall able to swap positions with the stunned Engelhart and attack this round?

Alexis Smolensk said...

Have Fjall replace Oddsdrakken. The little halfling is scared out of his mind, and if you push Engelhart out of his place he'll need a whole round to climb up again.

Lothar Svensson said...

Alright, Fjall swaps places with Oddsdraken and attacks the frog in 0807.

Attack: 10+1=11
Damage: 1

I'm not sure about the current HPs of my followers at the moment, they are low, I'm sure of that.

Working on the assumption that Embla and Willa miss, Bergthora attacks the frogling in 0809.

Attack: 11+1=12
Damage: 3

For all the good it will do.

Valda finishes off the frogling under her feet. He's still technically alive at the moment and there aren't many valid targets left for Valda.

[good morning. it is four a.m. i am only just now getting to bed, after a very special night with my most deeply loved one. I work tomorrow afternoon; and then I am off work on Wednesday. Let's play on Wednesday, please. From noon EST on.]

[sorry all, I slept in. Catching up]

The map above has been corrected for Embla not being stunned.

Alexis Smolensk said...

Embla and Willa both miss. Petar still has his bow, over his shoulder. He'll load his weapon. Valda killing the frogling makes sense.

After Fjall's switch, he misses. Bergthora misses.

Okay, that leaves just Pandred. I'm going to roll for her; Pandred is on holiday. I roll a 17; I roll 10 damage against the frogling in 0808. That will stun the frogling, pushing it back into 0707.

I'll create a new image and post it as soon as possible.

In the meantime, if Pandred gets a chance, I'd like to know her maximum hit points and her present hit points.

[oh, and let me add; if anyone wants to talk about the end of the other campaign, and express concerns to me about it, please find me on my email at or find me on facebook. I do not wish to talk about it in the public setting]

The next round is up.

Engelhart Askjellson said...

Alexis, I'm afraid to say Pandred was at -1(!) hitpoints at the beginning of the round...

She would have had to make a roll for keeping consciousness, plus probably dealt fewer damage for having her strength at 90%, if I understood your system correctly from previous iterations of this happening.

Alexis Smolensk said...

You have some of that wrong, Engelhart, but you are correct in one place.

A check for consciousness is not made until -4 hit points. And since I did not hit Pandred at all this round (Round 7), Pandred is not stunned and not restrained from acting normally.

But you are right, her strength is reduced by 10%; making her strength 16.2, not 18 (percent is not included), so the damage bonus is only +1. This still does 6 damage, which still stuns, so only means less x.p.; the froglings still retreat.

Alexis Smolensk said...

For some reason, I thought Pandred's strength was +5 damage. Oh well. I am really having trouble adjusting to this memory thing. I used to be able to rely on myself. But the combination or ordinary increased forgetfulness plus not running for three or four days at a time is making a mess of things.

I will keep growing this reference guide so that I stop relying on my memory for things.
